Wages increased significantly for many Ukrainians.
In Ukraine in October 2018, real wages increased by 14.2% compared to the same period last year and compared to September this year grew by only 0.2%, but excluding the temporarily uncontrolled areas of the Donbas and the occupied Crimea. This reads the data from the State statistics service of Ukraine.
According to state Statistics, the average salary of a staff employee in October of this year amounted to 9218 UAH, which is 2.5 times more than the minimum wage level.
In particular, the average wage in agriculture amounted for the period 8326 UAH, in industry, 10.2 thousand UAH, construction – 8434 UAH, the transport industry – 10,6 thousand UAH, information and telecommunications – 14,9 thousand UAH, financial and insurance activities – 16,6 thousand UAH, public administration and defense – 13.1 thousand UAH, and the like.
Note, the highest average salary in October was recorded in Kiev – 13,85 thousand UAH, and the lowest – in Chernivtsi, at the level of 7,128 thousand UAH.
