According to Heather Nauert, the introduction of sanctions against Russia is a difficult process.
The official representative of US state Department Heather Nauert explained why the U.S. government delay the introduction of the law on new sanctions against Russia.
During the press briefing, she noted that the state Department is working to identify a list of persons and organizations from Russia associated with the Russian defense and intelligence, which could fall under new US sanctions.
“As I understand it… it’s quite difficult and may take some time,” said Neuert.
She added that the state Department is also instructions for companies that might be affected by new sanctions, and negotiations on the new measures with the allies.
According to Nauert, the office is aware of concerns of the U.S. Senate due to the delay.
