The mayor of Tomsk city in Siberia has not allowed the Russian initiative group to carry out “anti-corruption picket in support of Vladimir Putin.” Denial of approval of the action explained the employment of all city venues, which will host other events.
According to activists, the city administration of Tomsk for various reasons do not give permission for public events group within six months. At the rally, according to the protesters, expected performances of pensioners against social issues and corruption of local authorities.
The decision of the city hall action group intends to appeal.
In June participants of the initiative group were detained by the police after recording a video message to Vladimir Putin for allegedly unauthorized picket fined them. In his address, the pensioners asked the Russian President to help them in the fight against corruption in law enforcement.
Opposition parties and movements in Tomsk for several months can not be confirmed by officials of carrying out protest rallies in the city. The mayor stated that all playgrounds in the city are busy with other activities.
