Storm on Mars has influenced the work of the American Rover.
The American space Agency NASA reported the discovery on one of the images from space, the Mars Rover Opportunity.
In June, NASA reported that the strongest dust storm on Mars has influenced the work of the American Mars Rover Opportunity, located on the planet since 2004. The last time the Rover communicated with Earth on June 10 and then went to sleep.
In late July, NASA said that dust storm on Mars began to subside, but the restoration of the Rover Opportunity may take weeks or even months.
To detect the Rover has been in the picture, taken 20 September, a high resolution camera HiRISE aboard the probe MRO (Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter). As they say in the message published on the NASA website, the image depicts a small object on the slopes of the Valley of stability (Mars’ Perseverance Valley).
“This object is (the Rover – ed) Opportunity, which descended to the Martian valley, when did the dust storm a little more than 100 days ago”, – stated in the message. NASA noted that while are unable to communicate with the Rover, but “at least we can go back to see him.”
Opportunity arrived on Mars in 2004, but was originally designed for 90 days, working on its surface for almost 15 years.
