In the Parliament want to introduce language quotas for print media

The bill providing 50 percent Ukrainian-language content for print media.

In Rada registered a bill, which provides for the introduction of language quotas for print media.

This was stated by MP from the popular front Victoria syumar.

“If to speak not about the Internet media, and the press, we have a bill 50 percent Ukrainian-language content for printed media,” she said.

According to her, the bill may prescribe the possibility of incentives, not directives, to do to comply with this quota, some tax breaks or incentives for proliferation.

“But then we have to think how best to prescribe, since the rules of this project are intertwined with the rules of the language laws and with the provisions of the draft laws from the Cabinet, which is now pending in the Committee on information policy, which relate to print media,” she said.
