The draft law on the temporarily occupied territories rejected in Committee.
The local government Committee of the Verkhovna Rada rejected the draft law on the temporarily occupied territories.
The document in fact, recognized the occupation of part of Ukraine by the Russian Federation. In addition, the law would equate Ukrainian prisoners to prisoners of war.
“This law will help those who are now in captivity. Because they are not recognized as prisoners of war. They are either held hostage or detained in the territory of Ukraine, and not in the territory which is temporarily occupied by a foreign enemy,” explained a member of the Committee of local government of the Verkhovna Rada Oleg Berezyuk.
