Monuments to Lenin and Kalinin will no longer flaunt high pedestals.
In the Bolgradsky region of Odessa region on October 6 dismantled statues of Lenin and Kalinin. About it reported in a press-service of the Bolgradsky district state administration.
It is noted that in accordance with the law of Ukraine “About the condemnation of the Communist and national socialist (Nazi) totalitarian regimes in Ukraine and the prohibition of propaganda of their symbols”, Kubaska rural Council it was necessary to dismantle the relevant monuments until may 2016. But due to the fact that the rural Council had not provided funds for dismantling, these requirements were not met until the specified statutory period.
“The joint efforts of Bolgrad of the Odessa regional and district state administrations the necessary funding and special equipment were found and carried out the dismantling of monuments to Lenin and Kalinin in the village Kuba. However, local authorities and the residents themselves had joined the demolition works. Now demolition work is completed,” – stated in the message.
