The violence resumed after two weeks of protests disrupted the attempt of Israel to introduce security screening at the entrance to the temple mount.
Local physicians reported that more than 120 people were injured in clashes in the historic centre of Jerusalem.

According to police, the conflict started when out of the crowd of the faithful on the Temple mount they threw stones, some of which fell on the square near the wailing Wall − Jewish religious shrines.
“Placed there the police squeezed the protesters out of the compound and scattered them with use of means of restraint”, − told in law enforcement bodies of Israel.
According to them, at the wailing Wall no one was injured in the clashes police officer was injured, receiving a blow on the head with rocks.
The police noted that, despite the unrest, has allowed thousands of Muslims gather for evening prayer on the Temple mount.
During the protests against the security measures imposed on the Temple mount, killed five Palestinians, including four last Friday, July 21.
