The Dutch have created the road out of toilet paper.
Waste management in the Netherlands has reached a new level — here introduced the technology of processing of toilet paper in the material for the roadway. The first railway in the world, where used toilet paper appeared in the Dutch province of Friesland.
The Dutch company CirTec and KNN Cellulose has developed a processing cycle, which effectively remove the cellulose (the main component of toilet paper) from waste. Installation of WwTP Geestmerambacht sewage filters and in the end gives up to 400 kg treated pulp per day. Part of the pulp is being exported to the UK, where it is used as raw material for the production of biokompozit.
The remaining amount of experts have found the application: granules of pressed pulp were the basis of the roadway. Experimental section — bike path 1 km — stretch along the highway that connects the provincial capital Leeuwarden with stiens.
However, recall the recent “Ukravtodor” called the cost of construction of the first toll road. Construction work could begin in 2019 and last until 2021.
