The Ministry of foreign Affairs and European integration summoned the Russian Ambassador to Moldova Farid Mukhametshin to discuss events dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the peacekeeping mission in Transnistria, which will be held July 29, in Bender, the press service of the Ministry.
As noted in the MFA Mukhametshin reminded that the participation of Russian officials and actors in such events may harm the relations between Moldova and Russia.
“Chisinau wants to maintain a friendly, trusting and respectful relationship. Unilateral organization of celebrations with the participation of the Russian delegation unreasonable”, – stressed the Minister.
The Ministry also stressed that the Moldovan authorities have repeatedly offered to change the format of the peacekeeping mission on the Dniester, which has long fulfilled all that was intended, and make her civil, “which will have a positive impact on the Transnistrian conflict settlement process”.
