In the Mediterranean sea before the rescuers found the bodies of seven people who died trying to reach Europe, 484 migrants were rescued.
The migrants were rescued from four separate rubber boats of the Italian coast guard, Navy, rescue group, and two private vessels.
The coast guard did not disclose any details about the origin of migrants, but most migrants arrive in Italy from sub-Saharan Africa to sub-Saharan Africa or Bangladesh.
According to estimates by the IOM, this year 1 222 people died trying to reach the shores of the EU on this route as of may 10, compared to 966 persons last year in the same period.
Earlier it was reported that in early may in the Mediterranean sea about 250 people were missing or could have sunk, trying to reach the shores of Europe.
