European organization for nuclear research launched inside the Large hadron Collider of the robot-inspector, who received the name of the Train Inspection Monorail (TIM).
The robot is a big train that moves along the monorail in the tunnel in length of 27 kilometers at a speed of six kilometers per hour. On the robot are sensors, cameras and measuring devices, which monitor the situation inside. It measures the air temperature in the tunnel, monitors the oxygen concentration and controls the other parameters. In addition, TIM is broadcast in real time, transmitting to the displays of operators of infrared and conventional image.
The large hadron Collider is the world’s largest particle accelerator located on the Franco-Swiss border in Geneva and owned by a group of CERN.
