Lavrov called nonsense statements about the occupation of Belarus, the Russian Federation during the military exercises.
The Russian Federation does not intend to occupy Belarus under the pretext of military exercises “West – 2017”.
This statement was made by Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov in an interview to Belarusian mass media on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the press service of the foreign Ministry.
“First, moaning and lamenting our exercises with the Republic of Belarus are observed not for the first year. Currently we are preparing exercises “West – 2017”. A couple of years ago there were military exercises “Union Shield 2015″. Heard the same cries that Russian troops allegedly for exercises will, and then will stay there forever and occupy the Republic of Belarus. More nonsense, it is hard to imagine”, — he said.
According to him, rumors that Russia allegedly is preparing for the introduction of troops in Belarus under the guise of training exercises, has been repeatedly refuted both the Russian side and the Belarusian leadership.
Recall that the joint exercises of Russia and Belarus “West-2017” scheduled for September 2017.
