Last Saturday, the zoo celebrated the 12th birthday of the elephant Horace. Asian elephant for almost six years, lives in Kiev. His birthday is celebrated on February 14, but this time moved the festival on February 18, this day was waiting for the children from different regions of Ukraine. The children themselves, under the supervision of our staff, Horace made a delicious cake with a diameter of 1 meter and weighing up to 18 lbs. In it, the kids put the sprouted oats, onions, pineapples, carrots, beets, apples, bananas, oranges, cabbage. I think the birthday went well. The kids loved it, and the elephant too. He gladly ate the treats from its enclosure. Maybe next Saturday we’ll have another festive day for the elephant” — told “Today” the General Director of the Kiev zoo Cyril Trantin.

Visitors say that the elephant is bored in the cage. “I wish him a bride bought,” say the visitors. At the zoo say that Horace the marriage is not yet ripe to think about the bridesmaids will start in 15-17 years. “We understand that the elephant wants company. This spring, the zoo launched a large-scale reconstruction. And in four years we will build a spacious elephant house with an area of 4 hectares (1.5 hectares for Horace, and the rest to his girlfriends). Girlfriends will be at least two.
