The Prosecutor General’s office published the results of the investigation.
According to the GPU, the leadership of the armed forces organized a direct invasion of the regular Russian troops on the territory of Donetsk region with a simultaneous shelling of the AFU positions of Russia.
It is argued that the major invasion occurred in the night from 23 to 24 August 2014. The invasion force of the armed forces consisted of nine bataljona tactical group: 3,500 personnel, 60 tanks, 320 BMD (BMP), up to 60 guns, 45 mortars, and 5 anti-tank systems.
“On August 29, 2014 at the direct behest and order of the command of the General staff of the armed forces of the Russian soldiers shot heavy weapons columns Ukrainian soldiers, together with three captured Russian paratroopers,” – said in the investigation.
“Under these circumstances committed treacherous murder of 366 Ukrainian soldiers, 429 – were injured varying degrees of severity, the 300 was captured, the Ukrainian Armed Forces suffered significant losses of weapons and military equipment for the sum nearly 300 million UAH”, – stated in the message.
According to the results of the investigation and on the basis of evidence it is reported about suspicion to the Deputy chief of the General staff of the RF armed forces Nikolai Bogdanov committing criminal offenses under part 3 of article 110 (encroachment on territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine), part 2 of article 437 (waging aggressive war), part 2 of article 438 (violation of the laws or customs of war, are premeditated murder) of UK of Ukraine.
“The specified official directly carried out the command and control of units of the armed forces during their invasion of the territory of Ukraine in August 2014 and together with others organized the treacherous killing of Ukrainian soldiers near the town of Ilovaysk”, – noted in GPU.
The investigation proved that during 26-28.08.2014 only between the head of the anti-terrorist operation Muzhenko and Deputy chief of the General staff of the armed forces Bogdanov held 12 phone conversations, the results of which the Russian side has provided guarantee safe exit of the Ukrainian military from the environment in not fighting the order on approved routes.
An additional guarantee of safe passage was supposed to be three of the captured Russian paratroopers, which was agreed to transmit them to members of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation after leaving the environment.
At the same time, the consequence is well established that during the negotiations the representatives of the armed forces deliberately delayed the time for arranging tactically advantageous firing positions along the route of the ATO forces.

“In addition, the results of the investigation aggressive (hybrid) war of Russia against Ukraine as a whole is being brought to criminal liability for the offences indicated 89 people, including 43 citizens of the Russian Federation, including 20 officers, including 11 people from among the leadership of the armed forces (defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and his first Deputy – the chief of the General staff Valery Gerasimov and 9 generals). These individuals are wanted, the court granted permission for their detention”, – is told in the report of the GPU.
The court directed the 41 indictments for 45 people. Ukrainian courts sentenced 25 people have already been convicted, including 9 Russian citizens, including three soldiers of the armed forces.
