Director Mike Flanagan told something curious about the movie Doctor Sleep, the filming of which he now occupied. The plot, the recall on the eponymous novel by Stephen king, and that, in turn, is a continuation of the famous “the Shining”. Needless to say that the famous “Radiance” has no less than the famous film adaptation? The creation of Stanley Kubrick became the great classics not only of the genre but of cinema in General. And curiously, Flanagan made some Easter eggs for this film.
In between filming the Director talked with the guys from Bloody Disgusting, and we are talking about Danny Lloyd, the actor who played Danny TORRANCE from Kubrick:
It’s interesting, he’s a teacher, lives in the Midwest. Of course, we spoke with him. I don’t want to spoil, but Yes, we really did.
So, Flanagan is afraid of spoilers. Curious. In any case, the upcoming “Doctor Sleep” will not and cannot be a sequel to “the Shining” by Stanley Kubrick. However, to ignore completely the masterpiece of the Director is not going:
There is no such version of the world in which I would try to ignore one of the greatest movies ever created. There is no meaning to escape reality. But at the same time, it’s not “the Shining”. It has its own history in a very specific way. If you read the book, you know, what their differences, however, we were able to pass on this face, I think. I’m having a great time doing it. I just want to make a movie, and then turn off the Internet for two weeks and see what happens.
Well, we wish good luck Flanegan. Unfortunately, behold his new offspring, we will be able soon. “Doctor Sleep” will be released on 24 January 2020.
