Tourists in Thailand will have to give up alcohol for a few days in the eve of local elections.
Thai authorities will impose a ban on the sale and consumption of alcohol in connection with the holding of General elections. Buy strong drinks will not be from 18:00 on 16 March before 18:00 on March 17. The next day across the country held a preliminary vote. The elections themselves will be held a week later, so a ban on the sale of alcoholic beverages will operate in the country on 23 and 24 March.
As stated by the Secretary-General of the election Commission of Thailand Charungwit Phumma, these days people would be free to organise the party and conduct a wedding celebration, but to bring alcohol or consume it, is not recommended. A ban on the sale of alcohol in Thailand can enter and 13 April. This is the first day of the Thai New year, known as Songkran.
