In the Egyptian capital was rocked by a massive explosion

Possible detonation of the fuel tanks.

About Cairo international airport there was an explosion. Cairo residents heard an explosion near the airport, according to a source in the security service, the explosion occurred in the construction of used fuel storage.

One of the sources told the Agency that the flights were suspended while officials investigate the cause of the explosion.

As reported by Al Arabiya, referring to the Minister of civil aviation of Egypt, blew up two tanks for storage of fuel, located outside the airport.

However, later the press service of the defense Ministry of Egypt said that the explosion occurred near the fuel tanks outside the Cairo international airport at a chemical plant, and was caused by high temperatures.

The Minister also said that the incident did not affect the flight schedule.
