Wednesday morning on the outskirts of Olomouc in the Eastern Czech Republic passenger train collided with a truck. Nine people were injured, RIA Novosti reported citing Director of the regional Department of service of “Ambulance” by Jan Weinberg.
“During the accident received injuries of varying severity five men and four women. Fortunately, the train was approaching the station, and he had a little speed. All victims are delivered in hospitals of the city,” said Weinberg.
The accident occurred at a railway crossing without barriers, in which a truck entered in the red light of the semaphore. Damage to the train from the accident, the police have preliminarily determined in the amount of one million euros (about 46 thousand dollars). Road and rail traffic in the area temporarily stopped.
