In Spain, men were forbidden to push the legs in transport

Public transport Madrid, Spain’s capital, forbidden to sit too widely spaced legs.

The Madrid municipal transport company has announced that metro buses and trains there will be signs notifying passengers of the prohibition. They depict a man who has spread her legs so widely that no longer fit on the seat.

“New information icon reports that sitting in a position that interferes with others, is prohibited, — explained in a statement the company statement. — It reminds us of the civil responsibility and respect for the personal spaces of each passenger”.

The decision was made after the outbreak at Change.org the collection of signatures under the demand to place in the Madrid subway posters against disrespectful seats. “Disrespectful seat call peculiar to some men the habit widely spread her legs in public transport, occupying someone else’s place,” says the petition.

In 2014, the campaign against men’s lack of seat took place in public transport in new York and Seattle.

In 2015, the term manspreading indicating disrespectful towards others sitting with her legs wide spread, added to the Oxford English dictionary.
