Scientists have found the oldest cave art
Spain found cave art to the age of 14 thousand years. 15 well-preserved images, carved on the stone, experts have discovered on the walls of caves in Gipuzkoa, one of the Spanish provinces.
The samples themselves were found in April of this year, but the researchers were afraid to make loud statements to the full study findings. One of the archaeologists, Diego Garate noted that the drawings are well preserved, aided optimum humidity in the cave and stable temperature regime. The figures were mainly depicted human figures, oxen and horses. Rarely other living beings.
However, this rock art made in non-standard technique. Scientists have repeatedly proved that visual art of the prehistoric period due to its objectivity and a certain primitiveness can help to understand what happened thousands of years ago.
In particular, last year, guided rock art Russian archaeologists were able to prove the existence of a whole species of Buffalo.
A joke of this kind, the researchers called the “Higgs bison” (by analogy with the “Higgs boson” – the most expensive and rare elementary particle). About its existence first began in 2002, but the direct beings that this animal walked the earth was not. The existence of the beast had helped to ensure the scenic experiences of ancient people.
