BMW 530 MLE – exclusive model for the market of South Africa.
The South African division of BMW will restore the first unofficial M models of the Bavarian brand – 530 MLE (Motorsport Limited Edition). In 70-th years of BMW Motorsport released a limited batch of these machines for homologation of the “five” in accordance with the requirements of the local racing series.
In 1976 the factory Rosslyn went 110 cars Type 1, and a year later the company has collected 117 instances 530 MLE Type 2. Special “five” was equipped with a modified three-liter row “six”, the returns of which amounted to 200 horsepower and 277 Nm of torque, and a five-speed “mechanics”. From zero to “hundreds” of BMW 530 MLE was accelerated for 9.3 seconds, and top speed was 208 kilometers per hour.
From “fives” MLE version has different front and rear spoilers made of fiberglass, some body panels made of aluminum, thinner glass, solid stabilizers and stiffer springs. In the interior of the car was fitted with sports seats, three-spoke steering wheel and perforated pedal.
Car recovery employees of BMW South Africa was looking for a few years. They recently bought the 100th copy 530 MLE with the chassis number “770100” to work on which will attract employees who built the original machine in the ‘ 70s.
