Tuesday, 10 October, the head of the government of Catalonia Carles Pujdeme signed the Declaration, which States that the region becomes “independent Republic”.
The document remains symbolic, as the leader of Catalonia has announced that the official Declaration of independence is delayed for several weeks to establish a dialogue with Madrid on this issue.
It is expected that this Declaration will be submitted to the vote of Parliament if negotiations between Barcelona and Madrid on the peaceful settlement of the crisis will fail.
