The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the European investment Bank (EIB) on Monday, July 9, signed an agreement on a loan in the amount of 75 million euros. The signing took place during the summit Ukraine-EU in Brussels.
The funds will be used to Finance the project for improving the safety of roads.
The project predusmotrivaet the implementation of measures aimed at reduction of mortality, injuries in the cities, reducing the number of road accidents, creation of safe conditions for the movement of road users, increasing the comfort of movement and other activities with the aim of addressing the systemic challenges in ensuring road traffic safety in Ukraine.
The project is planned in Lviv, Odesa, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Kyiv and Kamianets-Podilskyi.
Earlier it was reported that the bike lanes in Ukraine will be required. Under the new regulations, cycle paths and cycle lanes should be made on the areas of residential and industrial areas, communal storage areas on the main streets of continuous and controlled movement, the streets of local importance and rural roads.
