In Simferopol SIZO prisoners are kept in inhumane conditions

The Ukrainian activist Volodymyr Baluja enclosed in the annexed Crimea has worsened heart problems, high blood pressure and constant headaches from acute sinusitis. As reported by “Crimean human rights group”, citing data from the relatives of Baluchi.

“On June 23, the Ukrainian lawyer during the meeting with Baluja in the detention center drew attention to the signs indicating the deteriorating health of his client. The Ukrainian lawyer will request a full medical examination of Baluja”, – stated in the message.

Human rights activists report that the record of the complaint for failure to provide timely medical assistance to other Ukrainian political prisoners-Emir-Usain cook, Arsene Jepparov, Vladimir Dudka, Eugene Panov, citizen of Afghan origin Kabira Mohammad.

“On June 20, has sharply deteriorated state of health of the helper “Ukrainian saboteurs” Vladimir Prisich. He, according to relatives, numb the part of the head, started bleeding from his nose and he lost consciousness”, – stated in the message.

According to human rights, in the detention center of Simferopol detained is not enough space in rooms – the heat and unsanitary conditions.

“In the detention unit, which contain Baluja with him are 20 people, but the camera is designed for 16 seats and beds was not enough. Chamber size – 42 sq. m. the standard living space in a prison cell for one person set at the rate of 4 m per prisoner in the same cell account for just over 2 square meters”, – stated in the message.

People in jail lack of free and personal space, personal belongings of the detainees are in the camera and take a lot of space.

“The camera is poorly lit, the prisoners vision deteriorates. In the premises unsanitary cockroaches, ants and other insects. Prisoners were bitten by fleas and mosquitoes. A walk prisoners removed in a semi-open room, smaller than the camera itself”, – said in turn the relatives of the detainees.

According to the Crimean lawyer Emile Kubedinova, political prisoners, many of whom already more than a year in custody, are not granted the possibility of family visits.

“Such actions of the authorities of the Russian Federation concerning Ukrainian political prisoners are an additional way to put pressure on them”, – stated the Crimean human rights group.
