“Yes, WhatsApp, Viber and Telegram can be blocked tomorrow if the decision is taken by the competent authorities. Technically there are no prohibitive problems: this can be a lock as a simple and very clever,” said the representative of Roskomnadzor.
It should be noted that recently Russia has blocked a number of messengers due to the failure of developers to pass intelligence information, personal user data and information about their activity. Also earlier in Russia was the social network Linkedin blocked due to failure to migrate to the country of personal data of Russian citizens within the framework of the “law of Spring”.
