Two activists of the “animal advocates Alliance” Yuri Koretsky and Vera Stepanova announced an indefinite hunger strike near the building of the state Duma, demanding to pass the bill “About responsible treatment of animals”.

The hunger strike began on 7 November. At the same time, other animal rights activists organize pickets in Moscow and in the regions activists hold local promotions and flash mobs.
In Moscow, reports “OVD-info” detained one of the picketers. According to the project, she, her sister and friend were drawn up under part 5 of article 20.2 of the administrative code (“violation of the established procedure of organizing or holding a rally, demonstration or picketing”). All three face a fine of 10 thousand rubles.
