The US President Donald trump with his performance in Warsaw (Poland) made a “cold shower” for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
This was stated by Russian political scientist and publicist Andrei Piontkovsky.
“The environment trump opposed his “full-scale” meeting with Putin, but he personally insisted on it. That is, trump did not want the meeting somewhere in the corridors near the toilet. However, today’s speech trump in Warsaw became for Putin a cold shower. For the first time trump has sharply criticized Putin and the whole foreign policy of the Russian Federation,” – said Piontkovsky.
According to him, in Warsaw trump “clearly voiced loyalty to the United States the fifth article of the NATO Charter”.
So, he reminded that earlier the document was signed on the sale of Poland’s most modern missile defense system.
“I looked out of curiosity Russian talk show – where the audience is just mad for this reason. Some even demand that Putin refused to meet with trump,” said the publicist.
In his opinion, the President of the United States dealt a blow to Moscow’s expectations.
“Trump has dealt a blow to Moscow’s expectations. It is famous for its unpredictability. As for sanctions, it is unlikely that the American President will be happy with Putin. And today’s speech is very encouraging. It is a pleasant surprise. I think this is a prelude to tomorrow’s meeting with Putin. Besides, do not forget that Tillerson (U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson. – Ed.) will visit Kiev. That is American leadership pays special attention to Ukraine”, – summed up Pionkowski.
