The law says that a document confirming the refusal of the Ukrainian citizen from having his citizenship is a certified copy of the statement.
The Russian state Duma has adopted a law allowing to obtain a Russian passport without a certificate of renunciation of citizenship of Ukraine. As the correspondent of UNIAN in the Russian Federation, the amendments adopted in the laws on citizenship and on the legal status of foreign citizens in the Russian Federation.
In particular, declarative negotiated procedure without confirmation from the Ukrainian party to the renunciation of citizenship of Ukraine for obtaining residence permits and passports in the Russian Federation. “A waiver of the citizenship of Ukraine is carried out by means of a Declaration of renunciation to the authority of the state. A document confirming the refusal of a citizen of Ukraine having a nationality is a notarized copy of the application”, – stated in the law.
As stated by the head of the Duma Committee on state construction and legislation Pavel Krasheninnikov, “to obtain a certificate of renunciation of citizenship of Ukraine is now impossible,” which is a “known fact”. According to him, the citizens of Ukraine wishing to obtain citizenship of the Russian Federation, sign a statement renouncing the Ukrainian citizenship, the document issued by a notary, one copy remains in the migration service of the Russian Federation, the second goes to Ukraine.
He noted that such a statement would be to replace the certificate, which previously had to obtain in the authorized bodies of Ukraine.
