This program will enable the poor to buy healthy food
The Ministry expects this year to start the program of targeted food aid, said the head of the Ministry Denis Manturov at the meeting of the “United Russia”.
We are talking about the strategy of food aid, developed in the fall of 2015. It supports the needy citizens who are on a special card will be transferred “cash equivalents” points or bonuses. They can be used to buy Russian-made products: vegetables and fruits, meat and fish, dairy products, and seeds and seedlings.
Manturov stressed that this is not a cumulative system, and people who have received “cash equivalents” will be required to spend it.
“The program is designed to ensure that the consumer necessarily has expended funds that were available to it. If during the month you haven’t spent the money, they burnt,” — said the head of Ministry of industry and trade.
According to him, this program will enable the poor to buy healthy food and thus support Industrialists engaged in the agricultural sector.
The program received the support of the Ministry, the Ministry will finalize it with the Ministry of Finance, said Manturov.

Previously, the Ministry estimated the program to run at 140 billion rubles.
