Kamchatka volcano Shiveluch threw a column of ash to 4 km
Height of ash emission at Shiveluch volcano on the Kamchatka Peninsula on Sunday was 4 km above sea level.
“Given the wind direction ash plume spread in an easterly direction for a distance of 60 kilometers. The spread of ash settlements do not exist”, – stated in the message.
According to the operational unified dispatching services, the loss of ash in the settlements of Kamchatskiy Krai is not fixed. International route air traffic around the volcano do not pass.
For Shiveluch has one of the most threatening – “orange” color code of hazard to aviation.
Shiveluch – the northernmost active volcano of Kamchatka, located 45 km from the village of Keys Ust-Kamchatsky district, where there are about 5 thousand people. This is one of the largest volcanic structures of Kamchatka. The activity of Shiveluch intensified in may 2009. As a result, the dome of the volcano cut cleft depth of about 30 m.
