In the Nizhnevartovsk district of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous district of Russia in the evening on August 10 continues to fire on the rig. This is stated in the message on the site situation and analytical centre of the Ministry of energy of the Russian Federation.
The fire started after the lift of one of the devices from a depth of about one kilometer there was a release of hazardous substances, which caused a fire and an open gushing. A drilling rig in the incident was destroyed, the fire covered several wells located nearby.

As of Monday morning, August 14, open burning in the well continues. Extinguishing involved 125 people and 35 pieces of equipment.
