The bear attacked two teenagers in the Milkovsky district of Kamchatka Krai, Russia, one of them died. After the attack of the aggressive animal was shot by hunters.
“On Monday, six kilometers from the village of Lazo has been a bear attack on two teenagers of 13 and 15 years old who walked from the water intake home. The younger of the boys was able to escape and report the incident to the residents of the nearest house, senior died. On the scene arrived two hunters who shot the bear attacked the teenagers,” – said in a statement on the website of the regional government.
As stated by the Deputy Chairman of the regional government, Sergei Khabarov, the people of the region should follow the rules of safe stay in the forest. The bears have not gone into hibernation and can show aggression towards people.
Milkovsky district is in the southern part of the Kamchatka Peninsula. The district’s population is nearly ten thousand people.
Sometimes animals show aggression and attack people. According to statistics of the regional authorities, in 2017 in the region have shot off more than 20 bears that threatened the person, in 2016-m – 60 bears. In 2015, the precautions were 59 killed by predators.
