MS-21 is to replace outdated Tu-154
In Russia passed the first test flight of the Russian airliner MS-21, which was moved from December 2016.
Eyewitnesses of flight in Irkutsk posted a video and photos in social networks.
The first flight test aircraft MS-21 passed without an invitation to the media. Public air presentation of the liner is planned at a later date.
Russia is positioning the MS-21 aircraft as a future competitor to Western Airbus A320 and Boeing 737. The liner is able to carry up to 210 passengers. The maximum flight distance – up to five thousand kilometers.
First deliveries of the new aircraft are planned in late 2018 – early 2019.
First MS-21 showed the public in June of last year. At the presentation ceremony of the aircraft was attended by Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev. In his opinion, the demand for this ship will grow, “as soon as he starts to fly”.
