The state Duma want to “close” for American journalists

Next week the state Duma will consider a decree banning journalists all American media to visit the lower house of the Russian Parliament. This was reported to Interfax, the Chairman of the Duma Committee for the control and regulation Olga Savastyanova.

“Monday will be an extraordinary meeting of the Committee, which will consider a draft decree on the draft decree will be submitted to the Council of the Duma on Tuesday, on Wednesday – at a meeting of the state Duma… a ban on the visit of the state Duma to journalists representing all of the American media,” said Sevastyanova.

The head of the Committee also said that deputies will be encouraged to introduce a similar ban at the regional level: American journalists in all media will not be able to attend the regional legislative Assembly. The vote on the Ordinance is scheduled for 6 December.

The ban will be imposed in response to the decision of Congress, which revoked the accreditation of RT (Russia Today). However, no measures against other Russian media Congress did not accept. On the website of the Russian foreign Ministry specified 21 the correspondent of the American media accredited by the Ministry.
