In Russia hosted a meeting of the Walker and Surkov

Policy discussed the situation in the Donbass.

In Belgrade on Saturday, October 7, held talks with special envoy of the US state Department in Ukraine Kurt Volker and assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Vladislav Surkov about the situation in the Donbass. This broadcast Serbian television reported the foreign Minister of Serbia Ivica Dacic.

According to the head of the foreign Ministry, this meeting was “change and improve the international position of Serbia”. Any details of negotiations Dacic said.

As suggested by the Serbian media, the meeting was elected the Balkan countries, as Surkov is under sanctions and can not enter the European Union.

The Russian newspaper RBC reports that Surkov, commenting on the outcome of the talks, called them “constructive.”

According to Surkov, was the necessity of fulfilling the Minsk agreements, “the decisive role in the Normandy format and Minsk contact group.”

As for Volcker, he is a public comments about the meeting in Belgrade is not given.

5 October 2017, the US special envoy to Ukraine, announcing the meeting, said that he would discuss with Surkov, “how to catalyze implementation of the Minsk agreements and to restore the territorial integrity of Ukraine.”
