The detained offender has stolen on 27 January from the Tretyakov gallery in Moscow painting Arkhip Kuindzhi “AI-Petri. Crimea”.
Stolen painting discovered. Hidden “in the territory of the construction site in Odintsovo district of Moscow region”.
The suspect – 31-year-old man. He was caught in the village of Zarechye, Moscow region. Earlier in December 2018, he was detained for drug possession, he is involved in the relevant criminal case and was under recognizance not to leave. It will check for sanity. The Picture Of The “AI-Petri. Crimea” was abducted on the evening of 27 January from the exhibition Kuindzhi, held in the Engineering building of the Tretyakov gallery. The attacker in front of the visitors took the picture from the wall, pulled out of the frame, and then easily escaped from the scene.
