On the night of August 12, in the 73rd year of life died people’s artist of Russia Victor Smirnov.

In this theater he has worked since 1983, his first job on stage was the role of Pugachev in the performance “captain’s daughter”. On the stage of the Alexandrinsky theatre Smirnov played 50 roles.
“In recent years, Victor F. was struggling with a serious illness, but his creative life until the last day was a full-blooded. The artist remained faithful to the service of the Alexandrinsky theatre and was indispensable in many of the leading performances,” – said in the message.
Besides theatre, Smirnov played in the movie. In particular, he starred in “the Master and Margarita”, “Boris Godunov” and the TV series “deadly force”, “Streets of broken lights” and “Liquidation”.
