To replace the “Kalashnikov” of the Romanian army acquires Italian machine. This was announced by the Minister of economy of Romania, Nicolae, Bedeleu.
The Romanian plant in Plopeni will start in collaboration with the Italian arms manufacturer Beretta the production of two new types of automatic ARX-160.
“This weapon has already been tested by the armed forces of Romania. We held talks with our Italian colleagues and have concluded a corresponding agreement” – he said Bedelia.
He noted that the Romanian army should abandon the old weapons – Kalashnikovs – to meet NATO standards.
The Minister also added that the rifles ARX-160, manufactured in Romania, will be appointed not only for the rearmament of the country – some of them will be exported.
