Four people were injured, two of them in serious condition, said the spokesman of the hospital Jan Postova.

“60-year-old resident was placed in an artificial coma, and 63-year-old victim was taken to the hospital with multiple injuries. Treatment also are two men of 34 and 43 years, received less serious injuries who are taken to the hospital,” she said, adding that all four men fell from the bridge when it collapsed.

The bridge was built in 1984 and was used by pedestrians and cyclists. Czech media reported that he had repeatedly expressed complaints that the steel ropes of the bridge was badly corroded and required replacement.
