In Poland want to break the gas agreement with Russia

This decision supports the Ministry of foreign Affairs of the country.

After the so-called Yamal contract for gas deliveries from Russia to Poland in 2022 Warsaw should not continue to buy gas in this area.

This opinion was expressed by the Minister of foreign Affairs of Poland Witold Waszczykowski.

“In 2022 will be completed Polish contract to supply natural gas from Russia. We try to then be able to import gas from other politically safe areas, not subjected us to some political tool Russia’s actions in previous years took place in Ukraine or Belarus, ” – said Waszczykowski.

He noted that in this context, is counting on the LNG terminal in Swinoujscie on the Baltic coast, as well as the Baltic gas pipeline to the North sea.

He added that if the United States will offer a good price, then Poland will be able to export gas and also from overseas.

As said Waszczykowski, a gas which now comes from Russia, is “extremely expensive” for Poland, in particular more than Germany, geographically located from Russia further than RP.
