The man with the hammer caused panic near Notre Dame
In Paris a man with a hammer attacked the police and was shot.
In Paris near the Cathedral Notre-Dame, a man with a hammer attacked a policeman who shot and killed the attacker.
“According to French police, the police shot dead a man outside of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, after he tried to attack the officer with a hammer. The suspect was wounded in the chest, French media report. The gunfire led to panic among the visitors. The area around the Cathedral was closed, and people are asked to stay away”, – says the publication.
Pollacci in the attack were injured, the attacker died on the spot.
The area is cordoned off, there is a police operation. The Paris Prosecutor’s office has already launched investigation of the case.
Visitors to the Notre Dame Cathedral was closed from the inside. Now it came to the police. The situation is calm and controlled.
