In Odessa will substantially raise the price of journey in minibuses

Now Odessa citizens pay 5 hryvnia.

In Odessa, the city government is going to raise the tariff for journey in minibuses to 7 hryvnia.

According to the Chairman of “Association of road carriers in Odessa region” Valery Novikov, the existing tariff is unprofitable because the cost of fuel and maintenance have increased.

He also noted that in Odessa low cost travel in buses among cities – 5 hryvnia for travel in one direction.

“We have among cities the lowest rate: 18.8 km 27 cents. This leads to the fact that the number of buses is reduced. Today, with the standard quantity 1,096 units on city routes out of just over 800,” said Valery Novikov at the meeting.

He said that the reasonable rate is 7 UAH.

The mayor of Odessa was asked to develop new tariffs together with the deputies and experts.
