Ashore in New Zealand beached hundreds of whales.
As the BBC reports with reference to the Department of conservation in the country, it happened in the Bay area in Golden Bay, NZ South island, on the beach jumped 416 animals.
It is noted that about 70% of the whales had died by the time of arrival on the scene volunteers. Activists and local residents tried to rescue the remaining animals, they sent them to the open sea at high tide.
The representative of the Department Andrew Lamason stressed that the whales, the survivors are in critical condition.
Animal rescue is also complicated by the fact that on the rocks is a large number of carcasses of dead whales that prevent victims to sail to the open sea.
