In Moscow unknown persons damaged the monument “They fought for the Motherland”

Soon the vandals were detained.

Moscow police have detained two men suspected in the damage to the monument “They fought for the Motherland” on Frunze embankment.

“The police OMVD Russia the Khamovniki district detained 30-the summer visitor from abroad on suspicion of vandalism” – said Titov.

According to preliminary data, the man, along with his friend was on the Frunzenskaya embankment. In a state of alcoholic intoxication, he bent the element of the monument, “which gives the construction of a disfigured appearance.”

Both were detained. On the visitor initiated a criminal case under article 214 of the criminal code (vandalism). Policemen check the involvement of his friend to the incident.

The monument “They fought for the Motherland” – bronze composition in front of the Ministry of defence has depicted an episode from the famous movie by Sergei Bondarchuk about the great Patriotic war – “They fought for the Motherland”.

One after the other the characters of the tape, and ordinary – Vasily Shukshin, Vyacheslav Tikhonov, Georgii Burkov and Bondarchuk.
