In Moscow, police detained 10-year-old student for a poetry reading

Law enforcement officers took the child by car to the police station.

In the center of Moscow on the evening of 26 may, on Vozdvizhenka street, police arrested the boy reading poetry.

This was reported in the Facebook journalist Lucy Stein.

“On Vozdvizhenka garbage grabbed read poems of a boy of nine years, was pushed into the car and drove one in hysterics. Not presented, not explained on what basis. Me and another girl who knew him, pushed to the ground,” she said.

The journalist tried to film the incident on video, but “got shot, before the camera managed to catch it in focus”.

The child’s father Ilya Skowronski explained that the son was walking with his mother in the Arbat district. When the police came, the woman sat on the bench at 20-25 metres from the child who recited excerpts from “hamlet” by William Shakespeare.

Law enforcement officers without explanation and put him in the car.

The wife tried to prevent the detention of her son, but she failed. As a result of these attempts, the woman torn clothes, and crashed the tablet.

Skowronski said that during the arrest the police were rude and used foul language. The child was taken to the Department of internal Affairs “Arbat”. According to him, the police said that the boy was picked up for begging.

The man noted that law enforcement officers threatened him with administrative proceedings for insulting the police, and the mother threatened to impute resistance to the police officer.
