Last years he suffered from lung disease and was bedridden. The actor was remembered by a characteristic appearance, which enabled him to play numerous thieves and negative characters.
Among the films in which he starred – “Aty-Baty, were soldiers” (1976) “D’artagnan and three Musketeers” (1978, the executioner of Lille), “Gypsy” (1979, the leader of the gang), “Oxygen hunger” ( 1991, the chief of the guardhouse), “Master and Margarita” (1994, atrani), “Antikiller” (2002, bandit Broom) – more than 100 roles.
Yuri is often filmed in the Ukrainian studios. His first theatre during 1963-65 he was the Kiev theater. Lesya Ukrainka. He also was fond of music, played various musical instruments.
