Participants of the trilateral contact group on settling the situation in Donbas with the participation of representatives of individual regions of Donetsk and Lugansk regions agreed to an indefinite ceasefire from midnight on 25 August 2017.
The decision was made in connection with the beginning of the school year at a meeting in Minsk on Wednesday, August 23.
“The trilateral contact group with participation of representatives of the ORDO and ORLO, in light of the support of the Normandy four leaders from 22 August 2017, confirms its full commitment to indefinite ceasefire in connection with the beginning of the school year, from midnight on 25 August 2017”, – quotes the special representative of the OSCE contact group Martin Sajdik, the press service of the organization.
Sidik said that the parties undertake to take all necessary steps to provide sustainable ceasefire.
For monitoring purposes, the parties also undertake to provide reliable and safe access of the OSCE SMM on the whole territory of Ukraine, in accordance with its mandate, said the OSCE representative.
