The wind speed has reached 120 km/h
To the shores of Veracruz in Mexico, a hurricane is coming “Franklin”, which can reach targets in the night of Thursday local time.
“Franklin” was formed as a storm in the Caribbean on Monday, August 7, and has already gained the force of a hurricane – wind speed reached 120 km/h, according to the national center for the prevention of hurricanes USA (NHC).
“In the hours that followed” Franklin “will cause the precipitation more than 250 mm in parts of the States of Puebla and Veracruz,” reads the statement of the NMS.
The height of the waves on the coast of Veracruz can reach four to six metres. Local authorities have banned access to the sea in small boats, the fishermen had already evacuated their boats.
A tropical storm is named, when the speed of the accompanying wind reaches 62 miles per hour. The storm becomes a hurricane when wind speed exceeds 119 kilometers per hour.
