Scientists have found a tower of human skulls.
Archaeologists, leading excavations in Mexico city, discovered in an ancient temple of the Aztecs more than 650 skulls and other fragments of human bodies.
A terrible discovery was made near one of the main temples of the capital of the Aztec Empire of Tenochtitlan, the site of which arose the city of Mexico. The skulls belonged to women and children. As noted by anthropologist Rodrigo Bolanos, previously it was assumed that these structures were carried out using the bones of a defeated army, but this hypothesis was refuted by this finding.
The tower reached nearly six meters in diameter and was installed at the foot of the monument to the God Huitzilopochtli – the patron Saint of the capital of the Aztec, God of Sun and war. The excavation site has been found 676 skulls of people who, according to archaeologists, was sacrificed.
